Berbuka puasa gaya raya

What could be better than enjoying a Nando's chicken meal at home?

Believe it or not, I hold the so-called "secret Nando's Peri-Peri chicken recipe".

The only downfall is that you'll have to order the marinade sauce from UK since it's not available here in Malaysia.

If you have any alternative sauces, you can try them.

Okay, straight to the point. The secret recipe.

Qty Ingredients
2 Whole chickens (1 - 1.2kg each)
100g Melted butter
1 tbps Nando's Peri-Peri sauce
1 tbps Lemon juice
2-4 cloves Garlic (crushed)
1 tsp Paprika
Parsley (to garnish)
Lemon wedges

1. Clean the chickens thoroughly, then spatchcock them by cutting them open through the back and flattening. Make slits through the thick parts of the chickens.

2. Make a sauce out of the rest of the ingredients and rub over the inside and outside of the chickens. Allow to marinate for a minimum of 2 hours in the fridge.

3. Place under a preheated grill for 30-40 mins, turning frequently, or cook in the oven at 200'c/400'c/Gas mark 6 for about 1 hour, until cooked through and the juices run clear. If you wish, you can then finish it off on the BBQ to give it an authentic smokey taste.

4. Serve sprinkled with parsley and lemon wedges for squeezing. If grilling or roasting, the pan juices can be spooned over and used as a sauce.

This is the UK version of the recipe, you can check out the USA version too.

Er, if you're lazy to cook, it's OK as you can still enjoy Nando's wonderful chickens by dining in at one of the many Nando's branches, or calling 1300-88-6555.

(Whenever ordering chickens, do request for only drumsticks. They taste Peri-fect!)
